Oppurtunities for Reading Should Always be Available.
Comics4Life is Leading The Way to Make Graphic Novels an Accessible Medium for The LA Community!
Distribution
We distribute a guaranteed packet of three curated comic books every month to program participants from the greater Los Angeles community.
Accessiblity
We are on a mission to help break the barrier of accessibility when it comes to comic books, and reading as a whole! Each curated pack of comic books is completely free for the program’s participants. Part of our goals are to bring the magic of comic books to anyone interested. Whether you are new to the wonderful genre, or an avid comic book enthusiast, participation is completely free, and super easy!
Fostering a Love 4 Reading
Reading is a core part of so many people’s lives. Part of our goal is to foster an environment in our program where reading is accessible, easy, and fun. Our journeys with reading (dictated personally in the "About Us" section) formed this core goal. Reading a comic book can change someone's life.
Who We Are:
Comics4Life is a non-profit organization intent on bringing free comic books to anyone who wants them, to promote literacy in the greater Los Angeles area. It was started by two highschool students who had a particularly challenging time reading. Everything changed when they discovered comic books, and comic books genuinely changed their lives. Now as avid readers, Louis Thuan and Giles Freedman believe No matter your background, age, or anything else, comic books are for everybody, and truly have the power to change lives. This program is their way of sharing this with the world.

Our Services
Below is The Carefully Crafted Plan for How our Program can be Instituted Within Your Organization:
We would please kindly request that someone manage a sign-up sheet (mainly just being near it). People who want to be guaranteed a packet of three curated comic books, place a name, alias, signature, or other means of identification on the sign-up sheet. On every select first weekday of the month (sign-ups ending the 21st of the previous month), we will bring a disposable box carrying numerous packets of comics. Kindly, we request that someone watch-over this box. For people who signed-up, they will be guaranteed a packet with their preferred identification (so ideally they had one to take just for them). There will be extra comic books available for anyone who did not choose to sign-up, but they will be numbered, so the only way for someone to guarantee themselves a packet is to sign-up. The extras are intended so that anybody interested, but who didn't sign-up, or anyone not willing to sign-up can still have access to the program. Participants will be required to re-sign-up every month, but the process is as easy as signing-up when one retrieves their monthly comic books. With the exception of observing the packets of comic books, along with the sign-up sheet, we handle ABSOLUTELY everything else, from obtaining the comic books themselves, to all packaging required, flyers, etc.
